Handmade in the Hastings (HitH) is a local initiative founded by Laura Davey, after seeing a growing need to help local crafters get noticed online.
Laura explains “there are so many talented people in our little corner of the world, yet no one knew they existed – until now”.
With many nation-wide handmade groups, Laura thought it would be a great idea to scale it down to a local level.
The idea is to keep locals shopping local and celebrate the abundance of talent across our local community.

There is no requirement for you to purchase anything to become a HitH Member, but HitH encourages you to visit all HitH Seller pages and give them a like to show your support.
Handmade in the Hastings Sellers
Handmade in the Hastings features approved Sellers only. First rotation has 27 HitH Sellers over nine categories.
Only artisans, crafters and makers who have handmade items that are their own works, may apply to become a HitH Seller.
HitH Sellers work on a quarterly three month rotation. An announcement will be made six weeks before the end of each rotation advising applications are open with instructions. HitH will be looking to fill gaps in the current rotation in the New Year.
Handmade in the Hastings Buyers
HitH Buyers will be required to have an active PayPal account for all item purchases. No bank details will ever be asked for or provided. Please make sure you have an activate PayPal account before making any purchases so there is no delay for HitH Sellers.
Handmade in the Hastings Team
Handmade in the Hastings started with Laura and her friend Kate in support.
The HitH Team comprises two admin members who handle all the heavy lifting. Two HitT Sellers who double as group moderators and points of contact for any HitH Seller issues. And two HitH Members of the general public who double as group moderators and points of contact for any HitH Buyer issues. Everything is discussed as a team.
As the HitH Group continues to grow, they will be looking at expanding their team as the need arises. Announcements will be made in the group when the time comes.
