Let’s stand together this ANZAC Day.
The ANZAC Day Commemorative Service will be broadcast across all 98 stations, on the both the Triple M and Hit networks, live from the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
Listeners are encouraged to head to the end of their driveways, balconies or backyards and listen by tuning in to the radio or streaming the service.
Lest we forget.
Driveway at Dawn
When the announcement came through that all local ANZAC Day commemorative services would be cancelled due to the COVID-19 padnemic, two veterans by the name of Bill Sowry and Terry James suggested standing in front of their driveways to observe a minute of silence.
At the same time Justin Wilbur offered the suggestion of lighting a candle as a tribute to the soldiers. Justin then created the Facebook Group Aussies & Kiwis for ANZACs.
Ash Louise subsequently joined this group and married both these ideas to put forth what we all now know as the ‘Driveway at Dawn‘ movement to commemorate ANZAC Day 2020.
